Toyota boss join race Nürburgring

Tokyo (The Car Insurance Info)-the President of Toyota sports car lovers, will be behind the wheel of the racing endurance race 24 hours drive on the Nürburgring, Germany, this month, the company spokesman said the AFP was quoted as saying.

Akio Toyoda, grandson of Toyota's founder, will become a member of a team of four men who were driving a Toyota car at the Nürburgring in Nürburg, South of Cologne, on 19 and 20 May.


It will be the first participation in a world class race it since becoming the number one in the company in June 2009.  Earlier she took part in the endurance race drive in 2007 and 2009 when she was a Vice President of the Toyota.


"This is not a purely private activities," the spokesman said. "This is part of the company's efforts to produce vehicles with good performance of our production through severe conditions."


In 2009, his team driving a Lexus LF-A supercar and crossed the finish line at # 87 of 170 vehicles on circuit, Kyodo News.
