Banking Is Not Paying The ECB Liquidity Facility Pusher

Perbankan Tidak Ambisius Membayar Fasilitas Likuiditas ECB

Monexnews-the European Central Bank says banking will restore the facilities 61,1 billion euros of liquidity (LTRO) phase II. 356 financial institutions will refund a portion of the funds given to the ECB LTRO II when it launched on February 27, 2012. Still, that number is far lower than the estimate of analysts who expect refunds 122,5 billion euros. This show that European banks are not so ambitious to restore funds cheap central bank. Banking it seems still worry the euro-zone debt problems could worsen ahead of the election returns, especially Italy and the uncertainty of the bailout will be Cyprus.

"The ECB will no doubt welcome the banking wants to refund the cheaper for the right reasons. If banks feel confident they do not need cheap funds then this surely will not be a problem. However, do not let the banks compete to return ECB funds cheap which in the end will only complicate the financial conditions if the condition worsens again, "said Nick Matthews, an economist at Nomura international.

Meanwhile, the euro slipped on the London session. EUR/USD is traded now, away from the high level 1.3169 daily 1.3244 (fr)
