Jon Cawley calls for joint whiplash policy
Zurich, the Transport Commission research on whiplash claims praised and called for a joint approach by policy makers preparing reforms. CAR INSURANCE
Zurich motor claims Director Jon Cawley said: "people who are injured in car accidents hitting earning help and support in getting back to full health, but for too long the system less scrupulous people has allowed and management companies for compensation at the expense of honest customers claims. Cawley added that Zurich in particular supported the introduction of independent medical panels to assess whiplash claims. CAR INSURANCE
He said: "this will provide a more robust process in the courts-in these cases, there is often little or no credible medical and biomechanical evidence, and as a result are often subject to fraud.
"We have to go away from the now generally accepted consumer thinking that a small car shunt on thousands of pounds in compensation amounts, as this ultimately Car insurance premiums for all consumers increases by about 20%." CAR INSURANCE
Cawley said the insurance company believes that the best ways to medical evidence in whiplash claims are better training for medical-legal experts and independence for the medical professional.
