CAR INSURANCE Committee on transport and tourism to launch whiplash research

Insurance industry faced with yet another survey with findings to be published in the summer set
The Committee on transport and tourism has started a study on how to cut the number and cost of whiplash claims. CAR INSURANCE
Louise Ellman said the Chairman of the Committee: "it is vital for policy makers to understand the reasons for the very high costs of motor insurance, especially for young drivers, and to take measures that cost. CAR INSURANCE
"Whiplash claims undoubtedly play a role in driving down the cost of motor insurance, but access to justice for injured people should be kept. We want to hear the arguments on these points and will publish a report in the summer over the best way forward on this difficult issue. " CAR INSURANCE
The Commission is interested in finding:
Or the Government's correct Call of Great Britain the "whiplash capital of the world", whether it is correct to say that the cost of whiplash claims from 90 € to the average premium add, and, if so, what part of this extra cost is due to "excessive, wrong or made up" claimsWhether the proposals submitted by the Government around medical evidence of whiplash and incentives to fraudulent or exaggerated claims can reduce motor insurance premiums, and by what extentThe effects of the proposals on access to justice for claimants who really are injuredWhether, there are other steps that the Government should take to the cost of motor insurance. CAR INSURANCEThe Commission wants written replies by 15 April.
