Insurer wants to double her £ 85 m commercial book
Covéa insurance has new plans to move itself as regional insurer mid-market announced.
The insurer wants to double the current commercial insurance book of £ 85 m, according to commercial lines Covéa director Simon Cooter.
He said: "I am convinced that there is a genuine chance of a credible alternative to traditional mid-market insurers must offer. We are looking to work with brokers who will support us to win business and based on our successes to date, it is clear that brokers are looking for what we have to offer.
"We are absolutely serious about becoming an insurer mid-market and my message to the market is that this is only the beginning."
Part of Covéa is planning to strengthen its commercial lines leadership team and empower regional offices, Cooter added.
Covéa has seven offices throughout the country, and another in the City of London will open by the end of 2013.
Cooter said: "the possibility is to really put our shoulders behind this regional offices and help them get to the next level."
The insurer has the country split into North and South, and each have a main drive of regional growth and Covéa Covéa to take over teams to develop. The insurer is recruiting to fill all these roles.
The insurer wants to stay in her current strongholds of schemes and SMEs, and is looking for a micro SME leader to developing this class of business to help.
Covéa would like, in particular, to small and medium-sized enterprises printing e-commerce facilities. Cooter said: "the larger insurers are e-commerce in SMEs with the handbrake on. We see a chance to accelerate. "
