Monexnews-Australia stock exchange traded at its highest level in almost three years and the Yen strengthened against the u.s. dollar, while gold moved up when most Asian stock exchanges closed associated holidays.
Trading on the stock exchange is likely to take place more quiet than usual with stock in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Viet Nam, Singapore and Malaysia are closed for a holiday today.
As many as 300 companies listed on the MSCI Asia Pacific index have released earnings reports this quarter and as Bloomberg estimated, about 53% has exceeded expectations. Approximately 54% had a fumble of estimates, according to data released by Bloomberg. This compares with 75% of the companies listed on the S&P that reaches an estimated 500 high earnings during that period, while as much as 33% due to the decline in sales is weakening.
